IONIC Authentication

Authentication is a key component for your applications. There are different approaches you can follow when adding this feature to your Ionic app. Each option has its benefits, and of course you can mix them to offer a better UX to your users.

Social Authentication can help you improve conversions by letting users sign in to your app quickly without having to create another username and password. Also, it lets you access some profile information such as picture, gender or email without having to ask for it.

For the backend you can either use your own or if you don't want to deal with your own infrastructure and backend implementation, then there are a few handy BaaS (Backend as a Service) options such as Firebase.

The following templates include both the authentication functionality and all the ionic pages and logic to handle the auth flow in ionic apps. For these starters we used social authentication with Firebase because it doesn't require any custom API or backend.
